One of the biggest changes you’ll notice are the improvements to the upload and edit process. We realized we were asking for way too much upfront. Previously, you had to add a title, description, post type, and project. Now all you need is an image. You can add more details to the post after it’s been uploaded but it’s not required. We hope this makes it easier and more natural to share things with your team.

Projects (within a Ploject) no longer require an additional request of membership. We felt this created a barrier for users to participate and put an unnecessary burden of member management on project owners.

Additional Updates & Features

Full-size image view

Email notifications for activity on your content

RSS feeds

Password recovery

Various speed improvements throughout the app

The next priority for our users is to build tools that help integrate Ploject into your workflow. Desktop uploaders, bookmarklet and mobile apps are on the horizon. Stay tuned.

Ploject Beta Update #1

Last week we addressed a lot of bugs reported in our support community and made a few enhancements as well. This was the first set of updates since we’ve had beta users helping, so thanks for all the help.

While a lot was added, something rather significant was removed. The ability to tie multiple Ploject accounts to a single user has been scrapped. We thought we wanted to go down this path since the beginning but it has proven to only confuse users and complicate things on our end. From now on, a Ploject’s member base only exists for the individual Ploject. If you create another account, you will need to create a separate username and password. If you’re interested in the details of this decision feel free to email us. It was the conclusion of a lot of long talks with a lot of different people and we feel confident in our decision.

Updates

Launched a new post view layout

We fixed a series of inconsistent thumbnail sizes

Added the ability to delete your own posts

Fixed Ploject creation and login issues

Added the ability to edit your email and password on the edit profile page

Coming Soon

RSS feeds

Ability to post videos (youtube and vimeo for now)

Full Size View

Upload via Email

Keyboard Shortcuts

Tag pages

Bookmarklet

And tons more…

While it’s still pretty early we definitely want to hear your feedback so far. We want you to find Ploject useful, so any ideas are welcome. Bugs will continue to be fixed throughout the next week so don’t hesitate to let us know what you find.

Nearing Beta

Tim and I are working hard to get everything ready for our first round of beta users.
